Know Your Script

Privacy Policy

The short version

You can read every page on this site without giving us anything. There is no account, no login and no paywall. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we have no way to receive information about your health even if you wanted to give it to us.

We never collect health information

This is the important one. There is no symptom checker, no eligibility quiz, no condition filter and no patient intake form anywhere on this site — deliberately. We do not ask what condition you have, what you have been prescribed, or whether you are a patient at all. Reading a page about tenancy law tells us nothing about your health, and we do not infer anything from what you browse.

What we collect when you just read

Google Analytics 4 counts visits and records which pages are read. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google an abbreviated version of your IP address, your approximate location (usually city or state level), your device type and browser, the pages you view and the site you came from. We use it to understand which pages people find useful. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not run remarketing or advertising audiences. Google retains this data according to its own settings, measured in months rather than indefinitely.

This site is served through Cloudflare, which processes technical request data — including your full IP address — to deliver pages and to block attacks and abusive traffic.

What we collect when you contact us

The contact form collects your email address, your name if you choose to give it, and your message. Your name is optional. The email address is required so we can reply.

This is sent to us by email through Resend, our email provider. We do not store your message in a database. Once we have dealt with your enquiry and any reasonable follow-up, we delete the email.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for, and have no way to receive, any information about your health, your prescriptions, your medications or your medical history.

We do not track you across other websites. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone. We do not use your message to add you to a mailing list — there is no mailing list.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are Google Analytics cookies used to count visits and distinguish one visitor from another. There are no advertising cookies, no session cookies beyond what Google's own script places and no third-party trackers.

Blocking them will not break anything. Every page on this site works fine without cookies, and no feature depends on them.

How long we keep things

Contact messages are kept while we deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up. Analytics data is retained according to Google's settings. There is nothing else to keep.

Who processes your data

ProviderWhat they process
Google Analytics 4Site usage, abbreviated IP, device type, approximate location
CloudflareRequest data including IP address, for delivery and security
ResendContact form messages, delivered by email to us

Each is an independent company with its own privacy policy. Google and Cloudflare process data globally, and Resend processes data in the United States. Information handled overseas may be subject to the laws of that country, and we cannot control that beyond choosing reputable providers.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and complain if you are unhappy with how we have handled your information.

Email us using the contact form. We will respond within two business days. There is no charge and you do not need to give a reason.

If we cannot resolve your complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

If something goes wrong

If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the OAIC as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Changes

If we change what we collect or add a new provider, we will update this page. We will not start collecting something new while this page says otherwise.
